This course offers both a historical and legislative background to the treatment of vulnerable witnesses. It can be tailored to include the practical requirements of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 Special Measures and the role of Registered Intermediaries. Participants will also focus on communicating with people with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
