What to expect if you contact our helpline
The key aims of our helpline service are to:
- treat you with courtesy and respect
- treat you as an individual
- be non judgmental, easy to talk to and helpful
- listen to what you say and take this seriously
- keep what you say to us confidential, unless there is a serious risk of harm to someone. This may require a breach of confidentiality to ensure the caller's or another person's safety or protection
- reply to telephone messages left on voice mail/answer phone within two working days from the date the message is received
- reply to letters, emails, text messages and Windows Live MSN Messenger within two working days from the date of receipt.
(The time required for a fuller response, where necessary, will be negotiated and agreed with the caller on an individual basis)
- give clear information and advice
- clearly explain what we are going to do
- tell you about other relevant organisations or services that may be of assistance if we are unable to help you
