What to expect if you contact our helpline

The key aims of our helpline service are:

To treat you with courtesy and respect
To treat you as an individual
To be non judgmental, easy to talk to and helpful
To listen to what you say and take this seriously
To keep what you say to us confidential, unless there is a serious risk of harm to someone.  This may require a breach of confidentiality to ensure the caller’s or another person’s safety or protection
To reply to telephone messages left on voice mail/answer phone within two working days from the date the message is received
To reply to letters, emails, text messages and Windows Live MSN Messenger within two working days from the date of receipt. (The time required for a fuller response, where necessary, will be negotiated and agreed with the caller on an individual basis)
To give clear information and advice
To clearly explain what we are going to do
To tell you about other relevant organisations or services that may be of assistance if we are unable to help you
