Course Overview
This course will enable workers to provide person centred planning for people with a learning disability from minority ethnic communities. It will also enable workers to develop improved support for people with a learning disability and their families from minority ethnic communities.
Benefits and Outcomes
By the end of the session staff will be able to:
- Explain what is meant by the term "person centred planning".
- Explain the terms exclusion and inclusion.
- Identify the barriers faced by people from minority ethnic communities when accessing health and social care.
- Describe some of the needs of specific groups within minority ethnic communities, including older people and people with disabilities.
- Identify ways to make access easier for people from minority ethnic communities.
